MEET THE TEAM

Amanda Hawke

Physiotherapist

Amanda Hawke was born in Namibia and raised in Windhoek for 6 years before moving to Grahamstown and later the South Coast of KZN. 

She studied her undergraduate physiotherapy degree through the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban. She spent one year living in Pietermaritzburg while completing her community service before moving back and settling in Durban. She worked at the Sharks Medical Centre for three and a half years before starting her own practice. 

Amanda is passionate about sport, the outdoors, people and physiotherapy. She has a special interest in adolescent athletes, sports injuries, neuromusculoskeletal conditions and orthopaedic rehabilitation. She really enjoys mentoring and supporting young physio’s and believes that you can “touch” more lives, by passing on knowledge to those around you. Amanda loves working within a multidisciplinary team and places a strong emphasis on the diagnostics in her practice, as part of a first line practitioners role. 

In her personal capacity, Amanda loves sport and has participated in competitive cycling, running and triathlon events. She enjoys tennis, hockey, hiking and stand up paddling on more of a social level. She loves spending time with family and friends, and has a real heart for South African travel and adventure.

Meghann Thiselton

Physiotherapist

Meghann Thiselton was born and raised in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

She completed her Bachelors in physiotherapy at the University of Pretoria. On conclusion of her studies, she moved to Eshowe in KZN to complete her community service year. After her community service year, she relocated to Durban where she has since been employed with us at Amanda Hawke Physiotherapy.

Meghann is passionate about movement. She has a special interest in sport injuries, neuromuscular conditions, orthopaedic rehabilitation and Pilates. She is passionate about combining research and theoretical learning with everyday hands on practice. She particularly enjoys treating the adolescent athletes, however enjoys helping anyone of any sporting level return to their previous functional level. Meghann is also a Basi trained Pilates instructor and enjoys incorporating this into her physiotherapy treatments.

In her spare time Meghann enjoys dancing, pilates, swimming, hiking and recently running. She thoroughly enjoys meeting new people and time spent with friends and family.




Reece Conrad

Physiotherapist

Reece Conrad was born and raised in the southern suburbs of Cape Town.

He was schooled at Western Province Preparatory School and Bishops Diocesan College. He studied a B.Sc Physiotherapy degree at the University of Cape Town and graduated in 2019. He completed his community service at Elizabeth Ross District Hospital in QwaQwa in the Free State. Upon his return to Cape Town; he Locumed for an outpatient practice in Somerset West and gained a large amount of fieldside experience while working with the Wild Dogs rugby team, the Western Province Currie Cup team for the 2022 season, the Grant Khomo Rugby tour and Craven week. Reece started working at Amanda Hawke Physiotherapy in June 2022 and is based at the Velocity Gym in Hout Bay. 

Reece is very passionate about creating good relationships with people, playing sport and exercise in general. His passion has now been channeled into sports medicine and rehabilitation of sports, neuromusculoskeletal and orthopaedic injuries. He enjoys the challenge of a wide variety of conditions and customizing treatment and rehabilitation programs for each patient. Reece is a team player, and sees the value in working with other professionals for the benefit of his patients. He places a large emphasis on getting buy-in from patients as they learn to trust the process of healing and rehabilitation. 

Outside of work he thoroughly enjoys his exercise, specifically football and gym work. He also has a very creative side with work on his art work, video editing and writing music.
